Dining

Dinners at the Inn
We are so excited to be offering dinners at the inn this year. We’re working with Devin Finigan, a talented young chef with a real flair for inventive dishes. She is passionate about working with local farmers, fishermen, and purveyors. You can make a reservation for dinner Monday through Friday, between 5 and 8 p.m.

Chef Devin is pictured here with her husband, Luke, who catches the lobsters we feature in dishes like the lobster ravioli. You can see a copy of the current menu on our blog. Items change daily or weekly, depending on what is available and what Chef Devin is excited about preparing. You can see that she is dedicated to serving what is available locally and what is in season.

Wines on our list are selected to pair perfectly with our menu offerings. We work closely with Maxx from Blue Hill Wine Shop to keep our choices dynamic and interesting, accessible and affordable. We have a nice selection of beers, bubbles, and cocktails, as well.

Our dining room is small, and we never want to rush our guests so please do make an advanced reservation if you would like to eat with us. You can send us an email or call us, 207/374-2844.

Breakfast at the Inn
Richard and Nancy Woodworth of Inn Spots & Special Places say our breakfast is a culinary event! It is served each morning between 8 and 9:30 a.m. in our sun-filled dining room. Fresh fruit, assorted juices, and freshly baked sweet breads accompany a choice of cooked-to-order entrees or homemade granola. Blueberry pancakes, waffles with strawberries, brie and roasted red pepper omelets, and amaretto french toast are favorites among guests. Local ingredients, including organic Maine maple syrup, are featured, as well as organic coffee from Maine roasted coffee beans. Food allergies and restrictions are easily accommodated.

Afternoon Refreshments
Homemade treats and hot and cold beverages are available in the parlor. Fresh baked cookies, chocolate-covered toffee, decadent cakes--one never knows what will emerge from the kitchen each afternoon. Fresh fruit, often local apples, is offered as well.

Innkeepers Reception
Hors d'oeuvres are served in the living room or in the garden from 6 to 7 p.m. each evening. Selections highlight Maine seafood, local and imported cheeses, and locally prepared salsas and chutneys. Wines by the glass, local beers, and a full line of fine liquors are available.

Blue Hill village and the surrounding areas are dotted with excellent restaurants for lunches and dinners. For fine dining, we especially recommend the Arborvine, just a block from the inn. Advance reservations are often necessary, and we will be happy to make them for you. The Fish Net is the choice for the best lobster roll around and the Boatyard Grill offers casual waterfront dining. Check with us for other recommendations for casual fare or fine dining on the Blue Hill Peninsula.

Online Cookbook
After handing out and sending along so many recipes to our guests, we’ve created an online cookbook with breakfast and hors d’oeuvres recipes from your home-away-from-home.
